Abstrakt
The article describes main mechanisms behind modern migrations and their relationship with globalization processes. In its first part, selected globalization ideas are analyzed through most important global migrations theoretical frameworks. Further on, empirical arguments are raised showing interconnections between migration processes and globalization from XIX century until today. Authors concentrate on main axis of contemporary migrations, migrants place in receiving countries labour markets and new forms of migration activities in a globalized world. According to authors, there are clear links between globalization processes dynamics and developments of modern forms of migration. It goes without doubt, they conclude, that the processes of immigration and emigration in/from Poland are influenced by determinants common to all global migrations, among which the role of globalization processes is crucial.
