dr hab. Izabela Grabowska

Professor Izabela Grabowska (formerly published as Grabowska-Lusinska) is a sociologist and economist; Professor at SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw (SWPS University); Elected Director of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School (330 PhD students, 3 faculties, 3 disciplines); Head of Youth Research Center of SWPS University (www.youth.swps.edu.pl); Senior Fellow and IMISCOE Coordinator at the Centre of Migration Research, University of Warsaw; Deputy Chair of IMISCOE Research Network Board of Directors and member of IMISCOE Executive Board; national expert of the European Commission in ESCO (Classification of European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations); author of Movers and Stayers: Migration, Mobility and Skills (Lang 2016), co-author of the research monograph Migrants as Agents of Change (with Garapich, Jazwinska and Radziwinowiczowna, Palgrave Macmillan 2017) and co-editor of Mobility in Transition. Migration Patterns After EU Enlargement (Amsterdam University Press 2013). She led the project Diffusion of Culture Through Social Remittances between Poland and the United Kingdom funded by National Science Centre Poland in cooperation of University of Roehampton, London; now she leads the project on Peer-groups and migration at Youth Research Center of SWPS University (Education-to-domestic and- foreign labour market transitions of youth: The role of locality, peer group and new media; National Science Centre Poland, Programme Sonata Bis).
