Migration Studies and New Societies
International and cross-disciplinary collaboration in higher education is one of the central objectives of the 4EU+ European University Alliance (4EU+ Alliance – 4euplus.eu). The 4EU+ Project “Migration Studies and New Societies”, which is coordinated by the University of Milan in cooperation with Charles University – Prague, Sorbonne University – Paris, and the University of Warsaw, aims at developing teaching projects on migration related issues.
The Project is designed to:
- provide students with an in-depth understanding of social and political opportunities and problems posed by global and intra-EU migration;
- equip them with analytical skills in multiple disciplines, ranging from Sociology, Economics, Political Sciences, Law and Anthropology, to History, Geography, Language, Cultural Studies.
The Project intends to promote a synergic learning path, combining migration related teaching activities with competences offered at each partner University in several academic fields. The ultimate objective is to develop a two-years Master’s degree Programme, aimed at training students with the expertise required to work on migration policies and realities in the context of EU institutions, international organizations/NGOs, local public administrations, private companies, cultural association, judicial districts and media, PhD studies.
