4th edition of the Joanna Matejko Competition for the best PhD thesis on international migration from and to Poland and the Polish diaspora

 

17. June 2024 The CMR announces the next edition of the Joanna Matejko Competition for the best PhD thesis on the topic of international migration from and to Poland and the Polish diaspora defended between years 2022 and 2024. The deadline for submitting applications is 30.11.2024.

The aim of the competition is to support researchers on the subject of international migration from and to Poland and the Polish diaspora, who are at the initial stage of their academic career, and to promote the results of their scientific work.

The competition prizes were sponsored by Agnieszka Matejko, the daughter of Polish historian and activist Dr. Joanna Matejko, who researched the history of the Polish diaspora in Canada and the country’s immigration policy.

The competition is held under the patronage of the Committee on Migration Research of Polish Academy of Sciences, which in its activities undertakes interdisciplinary issues of international migration processes, with particular emphasis on migration experienced by Poland, both emigration and immigration.
