Rekrutacja na 4EU+ Migration Days (17-22 May 2021)

The 4EU+ Project “Migration Studies and New Societies”
Migration Days (17-22 May 2021)

 CALL FOR STUDENT APPLICATIONS

International and cross-disciplinary collaboration in higher education is one of the central objectives of the 4EU+ European University Alliance (4EU+ Alliance, website: 4euplus.eu). The 4EU+ Project “Migration and New Societies”, which is coordinated by the University of Milan in cooperation with Charles University – Prague, Sorbonne University – Paris, and the University of Warsaw, aims at developing teaching projects on migration related issues. The Project is designed to:

1) provide students with an in-depth understanding of social and political opportunities and problems posed by global and intra-EU migration;

2) equip them with analytical skills in multiple disciplines, ranging from Sociology, Economics, Political Sciences, Law and Anthropology, to History, Geography, Language, Literature and Cultural Studies.

To implement the Project, promote an in-depth reflection and stimulate an informed debate on the multi-faceted implications and future of migration, the University of Milan, together with other partner Universities, organizes the international week – Migration Days – on 17-22 May 2021. The 4EU+ Migration Days will include the opening session with the guest lecture (mandatory), the junior panel, and more than 30 teaching activities – seminars and workshops for students (elective) from all partner Universities. All the activities – save for the opening session with the guest lecture – are open to a limited number of students from four Universities implementing the Project. Once selected for the Migration Days, students can choose in advance the teaching activities that they mean to be enrolled for. Each teaching activity will consist of at least two academic hours (2 x 45 minutes) and focus at least on one of the following topics:

  • Migration Policies in Europe
  • Borders Management, Mobility, Governance of Migration, Irregular Migration
  • Asylum Seekers and Refugees
  • Racism and Discriminations
  • New Societies and Integration
  • Migration and the Media
  • Labour Market and International Labour Migration
  • Past, Present and Future of Migration in Europe and Beyond
