Jakub Stachowski is a sociologist and a Ph.D.-fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. He is associated with project GLARUS (Global Labour in Rural Societies) that looks at labour migration to rural areas in Norway, UK and California.
His doctoral project has a working title ‘To be or to belong?’ Integration and transnational lives of Polish migrants in rural areas in Norway’. It is an ethnographic study of Polish migrants working in the Norwegian salmon industry and living in a costal, rural area in Norway.
Among his research interests are: labour migration, integration and transnationalism, rural and urban areas, migration and healthcare, and also criminality and penal systems.
