dr Kamila Kowalska

Lawyer, master in International Relations at the University of Wrocław. She was a scholarship holder at the University “Sapienza” in Rome, while pursuing her postgraduate degree in immigration and refugees’ issues. She received her PhD in the discipline of Political Science and Administration at the University of Warsaw. The theme of the doctoral dissertation was an analysis of the employment of qualified Polish women on the Italian labor market after Poland’s accession to the European Union.

Professionally based in Rome, she conducted teaching work and research on the presence of Poles in Italy, with particular attention to their employment status on the Italian labor market. She has collaborated with i.a. Caritas Italiana, the Centre for Studies and Research IDOS (issuing the Dossier Statistico Immigrazione), as well as with the Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies of the National Research Council. She was a lecturer in sociology of work at the University “Sapienza” in Rome.

She is a co-editor of two important Italian monographs focusing on comprehensive and multidisciplinary studies and research on Poles in Italy:
