dr hab. Katarzyna Andrejuk

Katarzyna Andrejuk is sociologist and lawyer, she graduated from the University of Warsaw and Queen Mary University of London. She works at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Polish Academy of Sciences. Her PhD dissertation concerned educational migrations from Poland to the United Kingdom after Poland’s accession to the EU. She published a monograph devoted to this topic (Europeanisation in the diaspora. Polish students at London universities after 2004 – in Polish). Her habilitation was a study of Ukrainian entrepreneurship in Poland (Ukrainian entrepreneurs in Poland. Structure and agency in the settlement process – in Polish).   She is interested in the topics of Europeanisation, intra-EU mobility, as well as migrant entrepreneurship and self-employment, which she examined within the grant awarded by the National Science Centre (Sonata). She participated in scholarship programmes and research stays i.a. in Hungary (Central European University, Budapest), Germany (Herder Institute, Marburg), Italy (European University Institute, Florence). She is a member of the European Sociological Association and Polish Sociological Association. She also completed barrister training and passed barrister exam, before taking up academic work she used to work in several Warsaw law firms.
