Lucas van der Velde has recently completed his PhD in Economics at the University of Warsaw. His dissertation, titled “Technological change and labor market inequality: A microeconometric perspective on selected issues”, explores how automation process affected workers. The research proposes to broaden the scope taken by the literature to study additional outcomes, such as career patterns and early retirement. On a daily basis, Lucas splits his time between research at GRAPE and the Center for Migration and Research, and teaching at the Faculty of Economis of the University of Warsaw. His research interests include income inequality, gender differences in the labor market and aging.
