Ukrainian citizens working in Poland (2018-2020)

Programme implemented by the Foundation Centre for Migration Research with the participation of the Centre for Migration Research UW.

It was a continuation of research carried out in 2012, 2015 and 2016 on Ukrainian immigration to Poland.

The current project, from a multi-year perspective, draws attention to the dynamically changing immigration reality of Poland, especially with regard to the influx from Ukraine. Topics analysed include the socio-demographic characteristics of migrants, their legal status, migration patterns and plans, as well as the situation of migrants on the Polish labour market and their behaviour regarding saving and financial remittances to Ukraine. A special module of the study was devoted to Ukrainian students of full-time and evening programmes at Warsaw universities. The survey covered the Warsaw agglomeration which is still one of the main target areas for labour migrants coming to Poland, as well as new target areas for migration such as Bydgoszcz and Wrocław.
