Tetiana Storozhko is a Roma activist, researcher and educator from Ukraine.

Over the course of more than 16 years working on Roma issues, Tetiana has worked with its various aspects – through historical and cultural studies, teaching, awareness raising, activism and human rights advocacy.

While obtaining a master’s degree in history, as well as being a graduate student, she conducted research on the history and culture of Roma in Central and Eastern Europe. This research served as the foundation for numerous initiatives aimed at fostering intercultural dialogue, integrating Roma communities into Ukrainian society, and preserving their intangible cultural heritage.

As a dedicated and visionary leader deeply committed to empowering youth and marginalized communities, Tetiana has made significant efforts to advocate for the interests of Roma youth and to support the development of the Roma youth movement at both the national and international levels. Over the past 6 years, she has a proven track record of leading successful initiatives for Roma youth development and creating impactful programs that address social issues.

Tetiana possesses extensive experience in promoting non-formal education, advocating for human rights, and raising awareness about historical injustices. She is an education professional with expertise in teaching and learning about the Roma genocide, promoting human rights, diversity, and tolerance, and combating discrimination, antigypsyism, and all forms of xenophobia through non-formal education methods.

In 2023 Tetiana became a fellow of the UN OHCHR Minorities Rights Fellowship Program.

Currently, Tetiana heads the non-governmental organization TENET – Center for Social Transformations. In its activities, the organization’s team focuses on supporting young Roma experts to enhance their capacity to act as advocates and lobbyists for the Roma community. An essential aspect of their work is providing support to community representatives in the face of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and developing strategies to engage the Roma civil society in post-war reconstruction efforts in Ukraine.
